The Trustees met three times in the year, twice at Harrow School and once at Westway and approved Grants to Uppingham School and Westway as well as confirming those to Eton College and Lancing College made the previous year. A commitment previously made to Stowe School was held in abeyance pending the outcome of their plans for their courts. Progress at Westway was keenly followed and results there greeted with satisfaction. After an investment of around £14,000 by the Trust, no further support there is anticipated at this stage.
The Accounts show regular investment income of almost £6,000 in the year and expenditures of over £9,000, so that assets are again lowered to £41,812 from £45,281. As agreed, now that the EFA has formalised a strategic framework for its future activities, the Trustees will be considering the most appropriate ways of contributing to its success. This is very likely to involve a substantial appeal for more funds; but in the meantime we offer grateful thanks to all those who are continuing to make payments into our funds by gift-aided standing order. We encourage all those who derived so much pleasure from the game to make regular payments, however small, to keep us in a position to support the many worthwhile projects for renewing and repairing courts and providing coaching and other support services. Guidance for Legacies and Bequests is provided below. Please write in the first instance to the Treasurer John Rimer, The Court House,Chenies,Rickmansworth, Herts.WD3 6EU.
I know you will all join me in thanking our Secretary and Treasurer and our Auditor as well as other Trustees for the considerable time they contribute to the Trust's affairs.
