Fives has continued to grow at Westway this year. For the first time Westway has fielded a team in the League. This will no doubt grow in the future with more and more players playing for the Westway Club team.
There has been an increase in youngsters taking part in Fives this season as new schools around Westway have taken up the sport, as well as schools in Lambeth taking up one wall Fives sessions. This should see Fives growing at the school;boy level more and more this year. Westway once again entered pairs into the Rossal Championships and the Nation Schools Championships this year, and is looking to start matches against other Fives playing schools for its young players this season.
Westway has continued to host league fixtures and club nights for various clubs throughout the season and will continue to do so. Westway also held a programme of coaching sessions for one wall Fives for existing Fives players, something that will be expanded to include Eton Fives this season.
Overall fives has had another year of growth at Westway, turning itself into one of the centres core sports and should continue to grow over the season to come.
