The Eton Fives Association

    Equity Statement

    "Equity in Eton Fives"

    Initiated by Anthony Wagg, Director

    Principle

The EFA recognises that they must be vigilant in combating inequality in Eton Fives (fives), particularly in relation to gender, race and disability.

    Gender

The EFA is working hard to introduce fives to more women and girls (women). Efforts will be made to ensure that

  • coaching reaches as many women as possible
  • women are encouraged to play for fives clubs whether in league matches or in friendlies
  • competitions willingly accept women and women only competitions are encouraged
  • Race

The EFA believes that fives has always been a multi-racial sport, but they will be vigilant in seeing that this spirit continues.

    Disability

The EFA is conscious of the need to promote fives to those with disabilities. It is their intention to ensure that specific time is made available at Westway for those with disabilities to be introduced to fives.

    General

With the opening of the Westway courts, the first in an inner city area, the EFA has the opportunity to help promote more equality in fives. It is the EFA's intention to take up this opportunity.
