The Association made a profit of £1,460 (2006:loss £3,241) during the year.
HSBC Insurance Brokers again sponsored the Schools Championships. This year they maintained their generous sponsorship at £5,000. We continue to be indebted to them for this and for the excellent evening’s entertainment of the Bursars and Masters in charge of Fives which was hosted at Highgate this year. We look forward to continuing close relations with HSBC.
A £1,100 grant was given to the Westway Development Trust towards the One Wall Fives initiative. This was subsidised in full by the Eton Fives Charitable Trust. The Eton Fives Charitable Trust continued to subsidise 50% of the Association’s coaching costs at schools.
In addition, the Association completed stage one of the fives-on-line website implementation which included the online facility for registration of players with search capability, ladder management facility and set up of site pages for clubs and schools.
All revenues from the sale of coaching manuals continue to be offset against the cost of stocks held. Please contact myself or Richard Barber, our Chairman, if you have any ideas or suggestions about sponsorship of our activities or for advertising in the annual report.
