The Fives Federation has now entered its fifth year in uniting all forms of Fives in England under a single banner, of which this Annual Review is the public ‘face’.We are delighted to report that – as will be seen from the pages of this Review – all three Associations are in excellent heart, all codes of Fives we represent are flourishing and the co-operation between us in many different areas is likewise vibrant and healthy.
A cornerstone of all successful games is that they should thrive as organisations, that those organisations are passed on in good health from one generation to the next and that they truly serve the needs of their members. Such organisations last because they work and evolve, and because every group of people who manage them acts as custodians for the benefit of all. It is therefore of prime importance that our co-operation – represented in this Joint Annual Review – continues to enjoy the confidence of Fives players everywhere. To this end we took time during the year to seek the views of our members, and are delighted to have received the strongest support for all that we are trying to do together. This has given added impetus to our co-operation, and many of the ideas we received in this feedback have been incorporated into the format of this Review.
We hope that our members will find here items of interest about the wider game, whichever code of the game enjoys your main allegiance, and that it may encourage a growing degree of co-operation between all forms of the game.We wish you an enjoyable and interesting read.
