    The Abbey Tournament

    Sunday 18th March 2001 - Aldenham

The seniors competition at Aldenham took place with Mill Hill, QEB and Berkhamsted in a 'round robin' tournament with every pair playing each other once up to 14 points.

It was clear from the outset that Berkhamsted 1 were in a different class and they ran out comfortable winners beating everybody with ease. The 2nd pair also beat everybody apart from their first pair and deservedly finished 2nd on the day. The battle for 3rd place intensified as QEB2, Mill Hill 1 and Aldenham 1 all stood a chance. Eventually after the last game had been played Mill Hill had secured 3rd place and the subsequent medals narrowly pipping the following two.

Again, many thanks to Nigel Wray and Saracens for helping with this event and to David Gooderick for his continuing support for me and for the game of Eton Fives.

    Results:

        1st Berkhamsted 1
        2nd Berkhamsted 2
        3rd Mill Hill 1
